Designed to capture European customers
The Amercian packaging specialist Pactiv presents two of its Slide-Rite® reclosable systems, which already succeeded in the United States, at FachPack (26th to 28th September at Nuremberg, Hall 4, Booth 215). Both the Ergonomic Slider and the S-Slider increase the reliability and provide a comfortable handling of the reclosure mechanism.
Owing to its special form, i. e. a slight lateral indentation, the Ergonomic Slider adjusts to the contours of the fingertips. This makes it especially handy, very easy to handle and thus substantially facilitates frequent opening and reclosing of the Slide-Rite® packaging.
In the United States the Ergonomic Slider has been successfully applied for fresh food such as cold cuts for about one year now. Owing to the small size of the slider, less film is required which implicates additional savings.
The slider also succeeded in the segment of quite simple packaging for deep frozen food and is increasingly employed for this type of applications. The Ergonomic Slider can be considered as an excellent addition to the range of Pactiv Slide-Rite® closures for breaded chicken or turkey meat, cheese, pet food (packagings up to two kilograms) as well as non-food products.
The second example for the innovation of the packaging specialist Pactiv is the “S”-Slider, which has successfully established in the international market for dog food.
“The ‘S’ can be regarded as a synonym for ‘Secure and Safe’ “, says Josef Honert, Marketing Manager Pactiv Slide-Rite® Division Europe. “This form of a slider closure sets new benchmarks as to security and reclosability, which increases the value of such a packaging for the customer significantly”, continues Josef Honert.
The S-Slider will be applied in other markets apart from pet food, for example in food packaging; and it is used for packagings for mould, fertiliser and grass seeds already today.
In addition to these special products Pactiv informs at FachPack about the whole range of Slide-Rite® slider closure products, which have had strong market positions world-wide for several years now. Consumers appreciate the easy opening and safe, repeated re-sealing avoiding the necessity of decanting the content. The products are kept in original packaging and thus the identity of the brand is considerably supported.
By virtue of the reclosure system Slide-Rite® patented by Pactiv the packaging and content have a very high recognition value, which stimulates the customers’ frequent demand for the product. The innovative concept increases the brand image and distinguishes the product from those of the competitors.
The variety of Slide-Rite® re-closing features allows to respond to individual, customer-specific and product optimised requirements. The conservation of freshness and aroma (e.g. Barrier Track), protection against contamination (e.g. Particle Plow) or identification of the originality of the packaging (tamper evidence) are further outstanding benefits of the Slide-Rite® technology.
