Competance centre in Duesseldorf
In the upcoming years, interpack will focus more on the areas of packaging materials and material processing. This decision was endorsed by the exhibitors’ advisory board of interpack 2008 at its constitutive meeting. In particular, packaging materials manufacturing processes shall be emphasised more at the internationally leading fair for packaging machinery, packaging and confectionary machinery. With this decision, Messe Düsseldorf and the interpack advisory board meet the market requirements and further solidify interpack’s position as internationally leading event for the entire packaging industry.
In addition to interpack (24 to 30 April 2008), as international event for all packaging issues, the leading trade fairs drupa (29 May to 11 June 2008) and K (24 to 31 October 2007) provide a comprehensive overview of material-related packaging material production processes. Managing Director Wilhelm Niedergöker states, “With this step, Messe Düsseldorf has become the first stop for comprehensive solutions and materials in this sector.”
In addition, the fair concept that includes additional exhibitions on the topics of bio-plastics or RFID, which was realised at interpack 2005 already, has proven that there is much interest amongst visitors for innovative ideas. Wilhelm Niedergöker says, “Not only do we want to offer packaging manufacturers a wider platform at interpack 2008, we also plan to expand the concept with special exhibitions on new ideas from the packaging production sector and network with drupa 2008.”
A total of 750,000 visitors are expected at the three trade fairs drupa, K and interpack. Managing Trade Fair Director Niedergöker states, “Thus, Messe Düsseldorf proves beyond doubt that it can create the concept and the space for the exhibitors and, at the same time, activate the required visitor numbers to guarantee successful trade fair business.“
