IP combatting bioterrorism
As food manufacturers work to meet tracking and tracing requirements associated with the Food and Drug Association's Bioterrorism Act, International Paper is making their job easier with the introduction of its food safety feature – ReadyFill™ Tracking System (RTS) – to its ReadyFill IBC System. By packaging liquid food ingredients in ReadyFill IBCs with RTS, food manufacturers can track their products in real-time and access their data any time of day or night through this internet-based system.“To help our customers succeed, we continue to offer products and services that improve their business,” said Mark Jones, business manager for ReadyFill. “Our new tracking system is one great benefit we’re adding to the list of ReadyFill advantages. Our ReadyFill IBCs are easy to use because they are already set up upon arrival, compatible with automatic drum and tote filling equipment, attached to the appropriate pallet on arrival, capable of stacking three high and easy to dispose.”
With the new RTS feature, ReadyFill IBCs are equipped with unique identifiers embedded in durable bar-codes and product is tracked through an integrated hardware and software program. Information regarding the complete package – structure, liner and pallet – is traced along the life cycle of the shipment. The RTS reporting system provides metrics to support tracking history and container management, including end-user cycle times and inventory. Data is easily downloaded and formatted into different systems, and reports can be customized and edited to meet any customer specific needs.

ReadyFill IBC Systems is an International Paper business that manufactures and distributes intermediate bulk containers (IBC) as part of a complete line of bulk packaging products. The physical package is a multi-walled corrugated structure, with a polyethylene inner liner. The standard IBC is bonded to a kiln-dried yellow-pine (KDYP) heat-treated (HT) pallet that meets ISPM 15 regulations for export, as well as eliminates the need for additional mold inhibitor.
