fourth generation printer from cab

A completely new printer concept has been developed. The robust and industrial-suited printer is being offered with best price/performance ratio in the business class of label printers. All necessary interfaces are standard.   

cab sees the use of its new printer in production, warehouse, shipping department, office  and all general label, ticket and barcode applications. Frame and print mechanism are made out of high-quality materials and harmonize perfectly in form and function. As “front loader” the cover of the printer is being opened from the front. Therewith the user has unhindered access to the big label roll (up to 210 mm diameter!) and to the 360 m long ribbon. The remaining stock of labels and ribbon is good to recognize via the translucent cover. A new stack and connector system for the utilized label rolls allows fast change and proper storage of different label formates. The maximum label width is 120 mm, the smallest label hight is 5 mm and the smallest width 12 mm. Due to a damper the cover closes gently and cannot fall down.

The centered label guidance redundantises adjustments and avoids ribbon wrinkling. The simply exchangeable print head is affixed in a floating mount. For cleaning the print head can be flipped up by 90 degrees. The ball bearing print roll is inserted directly into the frame and can be taken out for cleaning or exchange. The new big 4 line display with 20 digits each allows among other things configuration of the displayed information by the user himself, as well as the display of the printer status and hints regarding handling (in 25 languages, et al. Chinese).

The beginning of the label is being recognized by a relocatable reflective sensor. The centrally placed see-through sensor also recognizes the beginning of the label as well as the end.

The printer has in series all necessary interfaces. Whether USB master for keyboard and scanner, USB slave for connection to the PC, Ethernet 10/100T, cardbus for PC Card Type II for e.g. Wireless LAN or traditional with serial or parallel (via optional USB converter) interface – the Mach4 is multifaceted and simply to connect and can also be addressed directly via cab J-Script ®. For users of Apple and Linux systems drivers are available. Like all other cab printers the Mach4 can be used with a standard PC keyboard and its CompactFlash memory in stand-alone mode. This means the complete use of the printer is possible without the connection to a PC. The self- illuminated navigator pad with the new “ENTER” button is self-explaining and makes stand-alone even easier.

With the unique possibility of „Pay-per-print“ billing it is feasible to rent out the printer for seasonal or additional uses. The user downloads and pays via Internet the necessary print license for the desired label quantity and prints these with the printer.

The Mach4 has a peel-off option integrated. The liner is being lead away behind the control panel. An external rewinder is optional and within the second half of 2006 a version with cutter will be available. With the Mach4 cab offers an impressively high equipped product of the business class for the price of the lower medium-class.
